Bottoms Up Leash
The inspiration for the Bottoms Up Leash was a Sheep Dog called "Watson" who began suffering from arthritis and hip dysplasia when he was 15 years old.
It is a nylon, supportive rear end leash-harness designed to help animals with broken bones, arthritis, dysplasia, or any other skeletal or muscular problems.
It works by taking the animal's weight off its hind legs while you walk your dog from the rear.
Unlike a towel under the belly, this product allows your dog to eliminate and keeps you from having to stoop over. For quick cleanup, remove only the padded neoprene sleeves and wash with soap and water.
The leash/harness is adjustable in size and will fit any dog between 15 and 125 pounds. Due to customer requests, they have added a second larger size for dogs over 125 pounds and up to 185 pounds.
Because the straps have a clearance in design off of the animal's back, the pressure is distributed under the centre of its hind legs. This gives the most complete support of the rear hips and upper rear legs.
By lifting slightly on the leash, the pet owner can control the amount of weight that is being placed on the animal's hind legs. The animal will still be going through the walking motion and will still be applying pressure on its legs, so the leash acts as an effective therapeutic device.
Your dog's front legs will need to be stable in order to use this dog harness.
