Dog Poem and Picture: Dudley the Duke of Dibbenshire

There once was a dog named Dudley, Duke of Dibbenshire he was, he was royalty!
When it was time for his breakfast, he was summoned with a flute. He had his own table, nothing less would suit.
He dined on fine cheeses, beef, and kibble, and when he was done, he burped just a little.
He had a red robe to show off his power that he wore on his throne which sat high in his tower.
He watched over his land with the eyes of an eagle, searching for trespassers, oh, he looked regal!
He demanded his walks at three o'clock sharp, strolling his grounds and leaving his mark.
The scents of nature kept him on guard, ready to hunt beasts both near and far.
He took his naps on a bed perfectly stuffed, but only after each pillow had been perfectly fluffed.
He dreamed of battles won and high speed chases in far-away lands and dangerous places.
His days came to an end with a long exhausted stretch. He worked hard all day, and at night played fetch.
But that's not all, there's much more to tell of this Duke we called Dudley. He was a fine fellow.
Adored by all of Dibbenshire, his name lives on forever as the dog who was Duke, to be forgotten, never.
