"Which Way Do We Go?"
Zanzibar and Furion are my 2 Leonbergers. They are a rare breed from Germany. They have very sweet and family oriented personalities.
Zanzibar is the younger one and he is 6 months old in this picture. Furion is on the right and he is 2 years old. He has received his Therapy certification and visits hospitals to work with recovering patients.
Both dogs are show dogs as well, and travel all over from show to show. The AKC will be recognizing this breed in the working class in July of 2010 and we are very excited about that.
I work with my dogs everyday and I enjoy every moment. We live on Long Island and we travel into Manhattan to do film work with them. They are extremely well trained and love to work on film and TV sets.
Both of my dogs go to dog school, both obedience and handling classes every week. Leonbergers are very large dogs, so everywhere we go everyone stops us to ask us questions.
Zanzibar and Furion have a very special bond between them and are like 2 peas in a pod. This is Zanzibar's first snow fall and he loved it.
Leonbergers have a double coat so they can be outside rolling around in snow all day. They also have webbed feet which makes swimming a breeze for them. Water Rescue has always been a favorite class for Leonbergers. As you can tell I'm a proud Momma.
