The most popular dog breed based on registrations with the Kennel Clubs of Great Britain and the United States, is the Labrador Retriever.

A noticeable difference in popularity is in the Yorkshire Terrier - which seems very popular in the United States imparticular.

There are other breeds that seem to have greater popularity in America than in the UK. The Beagle, the Daschund and the Poodle all have top ten spots in the US but not even ranking in the top twenty in the UK. The Bulldog seems to be increasing in popularity year on year in the States.

Similarly, breeds such as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the Border Terrier and even the West Highland Terrier have enormous popularity in the UK compared to the US. These are great little dogs - you may be missing out!
