Just Waiting

My brother was helping to paint my house, but Scruffy was relegated to being an "inside dog" that day. She spent most of the morning on the couch looking out the window, hoping for a glimpse of my brother.

Window light often works very well and this is a lovely photo. You can sense Scruffy's intensity as he searches for your brother.

Thanks Claire,

The photo was a combination of luck and skill (I think). I took about 10+ photos of Scruffy that morning. She was really active most of the time, running and jumping around so as to get a better look for my brother just outside. This was my favorite. She had just stopped and was "resting" for a minute before running and jumping some more.

I've already commented on this fab pic but i just had to mention the angle of the window with his outstretched leg...together they lead the eye round the picture just like a successful painting should. I don't know if this shot was pure luck or honed skill but either way its memorable for it's impact and quality.

 Dog Dreams

I feel like Scuffy some days as I am caring for a husband in dementia. We had so many dogs in my young life and each one had a special personality just like humans. I've talked or tricked my dear husband in our married years into 6 different dogs that warmed our hearts and cheered our days. Someday.. someday maybe I'll have a pooch once again...but I can guarantee I won't take a picture of him or her as good as this one...GREAT JOB KC!

 Dogs in My Life

Scruffy reminds me of the dogs we had when our children were home. There was Whiskers 1 and Whiskers 2, Pepsi (that our youngest son's friends referred to as Pepsi-Free...a hint maybe), Kavik the sled dog and Blackie. Pepsi liked to lay on the top of our car or on the kitchen table which was by the window (I can't believe I would add that!) and was very selective in who he bit. Anyway I think Scruffy deserves a day out after the painting project! Barbara

I love this picture of Scruffy the pensive pooch, looking logingly outside and waiting for his visitor and keeping guard...just in case he needs to sound the alarm if something is not quite right.

I adore this picture!! The lighting is just perfect...half highlighed and half cast in shadow, it's a perfect combination. Scruffy has such an expression that I can just sit and look at the photo imagining all the thoughts that are whirring through his mind.
