This was my dog Karma who passed away years ago. She was born and raised near the beach and as a puppy grew to love the ocean. Being a lifeguard on the beach, she would often go on long distance training swims in the ocean up to a mile. She always had her picture in the newspaper. When she was young we got her on a surfboard and she loved it. This is a picture of her in action.

I would say to anyone who is considering getting their dog to surf would be to expose your dog to the ocean and waves early on and frequently. Then get them slowly used to the surfboard first on the ground and then in the ocean. I would also recommend a life vest. This is really a lot of fun.
