Skye came to me four weeks ago from a local animal sanctuary called Assisi based in Conlig in County Down, Northern Ireland. Her mum, two brothers and one sister were left tied up outside the centre.

She is such a lovely affectionate little pup, full of mischief and keeping me on my toes.

She is my best friend and I love her so much. She had her second inoculation last week. She was so good even when the vet gave her the injection. She never flinched and just wanted to lick the vet to death.

The last few days we have been getting used to walking on the lead and it's been an absolute joy to be able to take her out for walks. So curious she sniffs and goes after anything and everything. I'm so lucky to have her. She came into my life at the end of a very stressful divorce and she has given me my life back.

Never a dull moment now she's here but I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't ever imagine life without her.

Yes she sure has made a big change to my life. Every day is a good day now I have her. I don't have time to dwell on the past. My time is spent looking after her.
